Always. Sometimes the truth may need to be presented in a better manner i.e. sugar coating, but the truth should always be fully known.

Almost always. If you have to be dishonest to protect someone in an emotional emergency you should always clear things up later.
I believe in pragmatic truth telling, but don't go there if it will change the dynamic of the relationship.
