I don't remember the very first thing (we were friends for a long time first), but what started off the relationship went something like this:
"I think I ought to ask your permission before I fall in love with you."

As far as i remember, you spotted a new name in that chat one day (note to others: this was five-six years before we started dating) and asked something on the lines of "Hi, I haven't seen you here before. Who are you?" and continued to welcome me to that community :)
