There are many levels of listening. If we are talking about the details of the day, it's not necessarily "active" listening. It's more about communicating facts. On the other hand, if we are talking emotions, feelings, and deeper issues, we typically take time to find a quiet place, face each other, and talk. This involves much more "active" listening - and a much higher focus on making sure the receiver understands the message the sender is trying to communicate.


More than I realized. But I know there's times he really doesn't HEAR me.. lol. Mostly because I pick the worst times to talk to him...

Yes, but sometimes it's hard to tell by her nonverbal queues. So sometimes ill ask her to repeat what I said and for the most part she will :).
