I'd rather not be alone. Doesn't seem like it works out too well for those in my family who did this very thing.

I'd rather be alone than settle for someone.
It's hard because love evolves over time. It is hard to keep the passion and longing going. Sometimes it is also more than just you being together with you spouse. It can involve the children as well.
Settled
I would rather grow old with someone I settled for. Perhaps it's not ideal, but I think companionship is important.
It's not idealistic, but I agree- Love is not all about fireworks. I agree with your choice :)

I heard of a woman who was so broken up in true love that she joined a nunery and was probably both alone and bitter when older. I'd go for settle.
Fortunately, this doesn't matter to me, because I'll be growing old with my beautiful soulmate. :)

I don't feel that this is a fair question. Being older doesn't mean that one can't find love and "true love," if it's alluding to the "the one" thing, is a daft concept...
Doesn't matter, as long as there's someone willing to streak through the woods with me when I'm saggy.

I would find true love with the person I "settled" for. I would begin this search by asking myself why I think I settled for this person.
