A lot of ego, I think. We both spent a lot of energy in the beginning of the relationship trying to be "right", as opposed to trying to work through our issues. Fortunately, we figured out how to do that over time.

Some spending habits, and tidying habits. But for the most part, I don't think I've had to give up anything (at least it feels that way!)

Insecurities..doubts..I love that man!!

Television. We have such a better relationship now that we talk to each other and do things together instead of just parking out butts on the sofa and watching endless hours of the tube.
So true...I think that was one of the smartest things we ever did. :-)

Being together for the last three years. :( it's still the best relationship that I've ever had, though we only see each other for a few days every month or so.
iCommenting I agree 3 years of long distance has been tough!

Many a hour of sleep for more time on Skype!

the only thing that comes to mind is sleep & money. Nothin else has been given up. I wish you would give up your pride and stubbornness when we fight over stupid things, or when I ask you to give me some time to sleep.

Sanity, emotional strength, self-respect, dignity, the usual
not sure we had those to begin with, but hey

Nothing really. We've managed to overcome any obstacle...and there really haven't been any of significance. I'm one of the luckiest guys in the world!

Neither of us have 'given up' anything. We might have made some different choices if we were not a couple. However, our relationship is about supporting each other, not sacraficing for the relationship

Clubbing.

Some family who didn't agree with our relationship!

I moved to Seattle, then he moved to Maryland. We have taken huge risks with only one another to rely on. We always have each other's back.

I've given up alcohol, and any sense of control of our finances. Or decorating decisions. She gives up nothing.
