The odd thing is that anyone in a relationship can do many small things for their other, everyday. I try my hardest in doing so. We have many days that are crazy, and if I have any opportunity to go out of my way to do something small, I jump on the chance. My opinion, everything you say to yours, every smile, every surprise (no matter how trivial), every touch (even if just a graze), every kiss all adds up to a lot of 'little' things. The best part - none of it is forced. Pure genuinity.
I try to do things to show her I love her all the time. Aside from the phone call or text message, I write love letters to her, I buy her flowers, I make her dinner, I take her out, or I just plan a quiet evening for us.
