Hm ... that's a DIFFICULT yet SIMPLE question. I definitely think being friends is IMPORTANT. Lovers drift apart if there's nothing glueing them together! A friendship with your partner is a great foundation. I love you with all my heart, and I''m proud to say you're my best friend!

i think in context of our relationship i want to say friends because at the base of being lovers you have to be committed to each others' selves, which good friendship allows.
