I try not to hold anything back. I want to give everything, everyday. I want to risk any risk to show you how much I love. The only trick is remembering to love you in the way you need to be loved rather than to love you the way I want you to love me. So long as I focus on what you need and want, things work much better.

My grandpa once said "Never forget birthdays or anniversaries." It might sound obvious, but what I get from it is that you have to never forget to make your partner feel special sometimes.

o pior inimigo de qualquer relacionamento é o silêncio e nao falar enfrentam problemas

Be patient with one another. It's something I struggle with daily. My lack of patience breeds anger within me. And passes the anger to my partner.

don't rush take your time and enjoy the simple pleasures of getting to know each other! embrace differences and understand the meaning behind it...

Communicate; talk openly and honestly about everything, no matter how small the issue. Really listen to each other, listen to understand each other’s needs, wants, dreams, desires, point of views, strengths, and vulnerabilities, understand to know what’s important to each other, know to appreciate each other as individuals, appreciate each other to build a strong union; filled with patience, understanding, compassion, support, forgiveness and love.

Listen. Don't just wait for your turn to talk.

Hang in there, it will get better. And if it doesn't than its not the right thing for you.
My advice would be: Do not take your partner for granted. They won't always be there if you don't treat them the way they deserve to be treated. If you don't, someone else will.
