Both Doug and my mom nag me all the time, but I know they just want what's best for me. I appreciate it.


the way that they are both quite laid back and don't pick fights.

My wife has my mother's work ethic, her get it done attitude, her ability to live the moment and have fun. I love that she has those qualities.


Their generosity.


That they stay together despite the hard times.


Patience. Especially with his son. My dad was the same way with my brother. It's uncanny they even use the same words.


Both very determined in their own way.

Our hippy gypsy voodoo shit, as we put it,way of thinking. The willingness not to judge when thinking outside the "social norm." A form of unconditional love.


This is a tough one. I don't think I can really answer it. He knows why.


Duty/love for family, a similar focus on education, a strong value system, depth of love, and compassion

She is very strong and independent like my mom. I have always admired it and hope my daughters inherit that trait.
