when to have my first child.
My parents would argue about my dad wanting to go somewhere or buy something for himself. I want my husband to go places and have fun, or to buy himself something nice for once. He works so damn hard, he deserves at least that much if not more.
Taste of cooked food. We make for each other with love, so there is no need to fight over too much salt, too little gravy, etc... The gesture of cooking is the most important part.
My father always traveled for his career, and my mother never liked it and they both argued about that. I told him that is one thing I would not like to have him travel alot on his own if in the future we continue together and start a family. I saw how it affected my mother and would not like that for me.
Money and Food. Honestly take care of the first issue and everything else is easy.

Over me needing to get a haircut when I was a teenager.
control. My mom wanted to be able to control his actions (he was lazy around the house and liked to spend money). We've avoided that fight by knowing I wear the pants but he gets a lot to say and we'll share the housework
We make an effort to really hear each other when something comes up or we are dissatisfied. Arguing in circles or talking without communication is something we hope to eschew.

My parents didn't really argue in front of us kids. They do nitpick now, but it's pretty harmless. My parents RULE! :)
