I hate fight/ arguing but sometimes it happens.... Someone once told me the fighting brings you closer. I believe the part of fighting means working it out when something happens. People aren't perfect but that just means you work it out and work together!

Not really advice, more an analogy. We all walk our own path, when our paths are heading in the same direction, this is our time in the sun. When our paths diverge, we must accept that and continue regardless of whether that means we part. Ultimately that ties into the importance of being yourself because no matter how glorious your partner is, if you lose yourself you also lose your relationship.
I agree with this completely. Though, I've never been given relationship advice that I can remember. Seems I'm the one usually giving it to others.

To not take each other for granted. You don't realize how much they truely do for you until they are no longer there. Don't assume they will always be there, God only knows what tomorrow has in store or if there will be a tomorrow.
Be completely honest and open.
