My mom is the coolest person you'd ever want to meet. My father was good but thought too much of himself

Complicated. We are normally on speaking terms but not an active roll in each others lives.
Never knew my father. My relationship between my mother and I is somewhat strained; we're just different enough that we grate on each others' nerves.
