My Father and I are fairly close and I know I can count on him anytime. My Mother and I talk 1 to 3 times a month, she loves and cares for me but I never seen much of her growing up.
I could do more to make it better....

Love them so much but the more physical distance between us the more we get along when we do see each other absence makes the heart grow fonder
