Something whether big or small, surprise or not, that means something to us and our relationship is the best gift :)
Something thoughtful beats both-and Is really all that matters.
I think a surprise, my boyfriend move to the opposite end of the world, so I think a surprise like me going to the states to surprise him would be amazing
....something useful as a big surprise....like my iMac computer and my SUV...I had no idea; which made those useful things so much more appreciated....
Big surprise.
Big Surprise! (:
Both! But useful trumps big because we are trying to go minimalist.
Something usefull that is also a big surprise
Something meaningful. It doesn't have to be a big surprise or something expensive. It can even be a homemade gift as long as it has a real meaning for me or for us.
Surprise
A big (and maybe useful) surprise
The best? A big surprise!
Surprises are more fun, and romantic :)

Surprise is the best present. If its actually useful, that is a bonus.
For small gifts I like useful things. But gifts need to have meaning and thought put behind them. Of course big surprises are nice but only for special occasions. If you keep sending big surprises you'll spoil the romance of giving a surprise.
Useful--barbecue grill, espresso maker--the best gifts
