Yes, definitely! I'm the oldest, so on the negative side I tend to be rather bossy and often tell people what to do without realizing I am doing that. On the positive side, I tend to be more independent and ambitious. He is an only child, for the most part, and as a result he likes to go into himself to deal with issues. On the positive, he is able to be happy without anyone else around.

In my case, yes. As first born, I developed a very dominant personality. However; I'm not as certain that birth order played a role in her personality.

I'm an only child, she was the first child to some fretful, over- anxious parents, who got everything right with her younger brother.
I was an only child, hence I received a lot of attention. She was the oldest, and ended up being someone for her mother to lean on during and after the divorce. Also, much more is expected of her for some reason, while her brother can seemingly do no wrong.
