It's a combination of both I believe
It may sound a little contradictory but I think that there is greatness we each are meant to do, but we still have choices in getting there.

I believe in fate. Heres why. I recently bought a PS3. I was online playing resident evil 5 co op and this guy joined my game randomly. We both had mics so we chatted throughout the game and ended up engaged and now we live together. He is what i have been praying for. I never planned that.
