Both are important, I think I need to be content most of the time to be happy as well. I prefer a calm life.
being content.... as long as it doesn't interfere with your pursuit of happiness
If I had to choose, being happy is more important than being content. Being happy gives off the impression that I am thriving in whatever I am enjoying. Being content sounds like I am just accepting that this is what it is. I never want to feel 'blah' about anything in my life. i want to thrive and feel something good about it.
Happy
If I'm happy, I'm content. If I'm content, I'm happy. One in the same for me.
Happy
I feel like they go hand in hand. If you aren't content you can't really be happy
Happy- content is just settling for something less and not necessarily happy, but if you are happy you are content

Being content.
There may be some days when you don't feel particularly happy but still content is harder to find and keep.
