Absolutely. Never the middle.
I always take whatever seat my wife doesn't take
Window seat, without question - that way I can crush myself against the window if necessary to avoid intruding on the poor middle-seat person's space, or being intruded upon... and having the window to lean against for sleep is good. PLUS, there's no limit to my enjoyment of the world when viewed from high above.
