Anything hockey...because then I can probably enjoy it too :)
Well, usually if its something you've MADE he will love it no matter what. :) so hand making stuff is always a pleasant surprise.
An unexpected gift
Do something awesome for her and remember the details that she likes
I'm sure she love if I'd disappear
With sex or a polo shirt. :) he is easy.
I should randomly bake him cupcakes the night before his midterms....
Just about anything nice that is completely unexpected
She loves heart to heart conversation
Paying attention to the little things he says or enjoys doing and create a gift or plan something from there :)

It's the little things that matter :)
I'm sure there are many ways to surprise him. But one way that I know is for sure is to surprise him with his favorite food. Nothing says I love you like peanut butter M&Ms and cranberry juice.
The best reaction I get is when the surprise is unexpected sex or a blow job.
