Tell her I need a hug or I need to talk. I don't so this as often as I should though, and make her figure it out often.

I say things like "I'm having a bad day"
or he usually notices before I say anything if we're together

He can probably tell by my bitchin' and moanin' that I'm in need of encouragement, LOL!

I usually start asking how I did at this or that. Or I will constantly point out what something did or how well I did something.

Consol them let them know your there or not

I usually write out a list of all the things that I'm having problems with and she does her best to get me through them

Ask her if I can hold her and let her know my doubts.

I normally hint that I could use some help. I seem to need a far more direct approach.

Just be honest and straight forward

Not sure how to communicate that. I guess I woul just tell you I'm feeling down or anxious.

If I sit and stare and try not to frown long enough, he's already figured it out and picked me up and is kissing my worries away

I tend to get real quiet and grumpy. What's interesting is that no one on this site seems to have a better answer than "just let him/her know..." There's probably a lesson here.

Let him know I'm feeling a little overwhelmed

I tell him.

Ask for it.
